Intel delivers Lunar Lake gaming boost with its latest drivers
Intel delivers strong performance uplifts with new Lunar Lake driver optimisations
With the company’s newest ARC GPU driver update, Intel has delivered significant performance gains to its entire Core Ultra 200V (Lunar Lake) CPU lineup. Previously, these gains were exclusive to owners of MSI’s Claw 8 AI+ and Claw 7 AI+ handhelds. Now, these boosts are available to all Lunar Lake users.
With this new driver, Intel has reported significant gains in both average and 99th percentile framerates. Average framerates are boosted by 10%, and 99th percentile framerates are increased by 25% on average. Not bad for a free driver update. With the largest gains being 99th percentile framerates, gamers should notice much greater framerate/frametime consistency with this new driver update.
Intel claims that these performance gains come from “power management optimisations.” Currently, it is unclear whether these improvements can be applied to enhance the performance of other Intel ARC products.
Intel Core Ultra Series 2 with built-in Intel Arc GPUs:
Power management optimization previously introduced in 32.0.101.6734 for handheld gaming devices now available for all Intel Core Ultra 200V series (codename Lunar Lake) devices. Delivering improved performance and frame pacing with lower power modes.
This new driver update will be great for anyone gaming on Intel Lunar Lake-based systems. This includes laptops and PC gaming handhelds. Higher levels of gaming performance will always be a good thing, especially within power-constrained environments.
