Intel LGA1700 isn’t a dead platform? Bartlett is coming, and its all P-cores!
Up to twelve cores of Pure Performance – Intel Bartlett-S CPUs may keep LGA1700 alive
We all thought that Intel’s support for their LGA1700 socket would end with Raptor Lake, but not it looks like something new is coming in early 2025. Intel Bartlett (BTL-S) is reportedly launching in January 2025, offering users All-P-Core designs that may be great for gaming.
With 8, 10, and 12 P-cores respectively for their Core 5, Core 7, and Core 9 models, these CPUs are all about performance. These CPUs will feature new E-cores, giving consumers an interesting non-hybrid option on LGA1700.
These CPUs are due to launch after Intel’s Arrow Lake CPUs. Arrow Lake is launching on Intel’s new LGA1851 socket, and are incompatible with today’s LGA1700 motherboards. This makes Bartlett the only upgrade option for Alder Lake and Raptor Lake CPU users. Even then, it remains to be seen how these new CPUs will perform when compared to Raptor Lake CPUs.

Alongside new Bartlett CPUs, Intel also appears to be releasing new Alder Lake/Raptor Lake CPU models are Core, Core 3, Core 5, and Core 7 processors. These models can feature both P-Cores and E-Cores, unlike Intel’s new P-Core-Only BTL-S silicon.
Many questions remain regarding BTL-S. Will these new CPUs feature a new P-Core design? Will they feature the same CPU cores as Raptor Lake, or will they feature something newer?
