Intel reportedly cancels their “Arrow Lake Refresh”, making their next-gen desktop plans a mystery

According to the leaker Panzerlied (via Videocardz), Intel has cancelled its 2025 Arrow Lake Refresh plans. Intel plans to launch its Arrow Lake lineup of desktop CPUs this year, and next year, Intel was reportedly working on refreshed Arrow Lake CPU designs. These CPU designs would largely use similar CPU designs as before but with extra E-cores and a stronger NPU. Now, the future of Intel’s desktop CPU lineup is unknown.

Currently, it is unknown what will succeed Arrow Lake in 2025. Intel has confirmed that its next-generation Panther Lake CPUs are already powered on in its labs. That said, Panther Lake appears to be Intel’s successor to Lunar Lake, and it remains to be seen if Panther Lake will be released as a desktop CPU product.

Intel’s Arrow Lake CPUs are due to launch next month, but beyond that, Intel’s desktop CPU plans are a mystery. Will Arrow Lake be on shelves for several years like Raptor Lake? Does Panther Lake have a desktop counterpart? Will Intel’s rumoured “Nova Lake” CPUs launch earlier than expected? Hopefully, Intel will shed some more light on their long-term plans soon.
