Intel silently raises the price of its Core Ultra 200 PLUS series CPUs
Intel’s Core Ultra 200 PLUS series CPUs have received an unannounced price increase
Intel has raised the price of its Core Ultra 5 250K PLUS and Core Ultra 7 270K PLUS. Intel did not announce this price increase, so the company has not given a reason for the price hike. Harukaze5719 was the first to spot this change on Intel’s website, confirming notable price increases for Intel’s newest desktop CPUs.
Intel’s Core Ultra 5 250K PLUS is now listed with an MSRP of $219.00-$229.00, with the Core Ultra 7 270K PLUS having a listed MSRP of $339.00-$349.99. These are price increases of $30 and $50, respectively.
So far, UK retail prices for Intel’s new CPUs remain steady. So far, Intel’s price changes have not affected the retail prices of Intel CPUs in the UK. That said, this price hike should hit consumers once retailers restock.
Wait, Intel increased price their the newest consumer CPU?!

Intel has not commented on the price increases for its Core Ultra 200 PLUS series CPUs. It may be related to shortages in some areas of the CPU market. Enterprise/datacenter CPUs are in high demand, and that is placing a lot of strain on CPU fabs. This is affecting other areas of the CPU market, even though high memory prices have reduced demand for standalone desktop CPUs. With high demand for CPUs and rising costs for semiconductor materials, it is easy to see why the prices of many products are rising.
