Intel Ultra Plus 7 270K Plus CPU Benchmarks leak
Leaked benchmarks highlight higher single-threaded and multi-threaded performance for Intel’s Core Ultra 200 Plus series CPUs
Benchmark results have leaked for Intel’s Core Ultra 7 270K Plus CPU, showcasing its single- and multi-core performance. Both results are notably higher than Intel’s Ultra 7 265K, but not as high as expected given this CPU’s higher core count.
Intel’s Ultra 7 270K Plus features eight P-cores and sixteen E-Cores. That’s four more E-cores than Intel’s Ultra 7 265K. Overall, the 270K Plus CPU has single-threaded and multi-threaded performance results that are 5.54% and 3.67% higher, respectively. Note that today’s leaked Ultra 7 270K results use DDR5-4800 memory. This CPU supports DDR5-7200 memory, which is 50% faster than DDR5-4800. That could be hampering this CPU’s multi-threaded performance. Power limits could also be a factor.

The Ultra 7 270K Plus is an interesting CPU. With its higher core count, it is more like an Ultra 9 285K than an Ultra 7 265K. It will be interesting to see how this CPU performs compared to its predecessor during testing.
If the Core Ultra 200 Plus series offers more cores and a minor clock-speed bump, it will improve Intel’s competitive positioning. However, if this is combined with increases to Intel’s interconnect speeds, like higher Fabric (SOC Tile/NGU) and Die-to-Die (D2D) speeds, it could have a larger impact on gaming performance than expected. This could make Intel’s new CPUs much more competitive.

Right now, it is unclear what the “Plus” part of Intel’s new CPU names means. Why isn’t the 270K Plus called the 270K? Is it pure marketing? Is it more? We will likely find out next month at CES.
