Intel’s Xeon-W “Sapphire Rapids” Workstation CPU lineup leak

The prices and specifications of Intel’s latest Xeon-W workstation processors have leaked

Intel’s due to reveal a new generation of Xeon Workstation (Xeon-W) processors later today, offering users the power of the company’s Sapphire Rapids silicon with core counts that range from six-cores to 56-cores, PCIe 5.0 support, and support for up to 4TB of ECC DDR5 memory over up to eight memory channels. 

Intel’s new Xeon-W processors are the first x86 workstation processors to come to market with both PCIe 5.0 support and DDR5 memory support, giving the company an advantage over their rivals. The new Xeon-W series will be split into two product lines, Xeon W-2400 and Xeon W-3400, with the former offering users CPUs with between 6 and 24 cores, 4-channel (up to 2TB) DDR5 memory support, and 64 PCIe 5.0 lanes and the latter offering users CPUs with between 12 and 56 CPU cores, 8-channel (up to 4TB) DDR5 memory support, and up to 112 PCIe 5.0 lanes. 

With such a huge variance in CPU core counts , PCIe connectivity and memory channels, the pricing of Intel’s newest Xen-W prices also has a huge level of variation, with their 6-core Xeon w3-2425 coming in at $359 while their 56-core w9-3495X coming in at $5899. 

All of Intel’s new Sapphire Rapids Xeon-W designs feature an all-P-Core design, which means that all of these processors will lack E-cores, and offer users support for AVX-512.
