MSI give Mini-ITX fans some love at Computex 2025

MSI unveils three new Mini ITX motherboards at Computex 2025

PCs come in all shapes and sizes, and while many of us love HUGE systems, others like to achieve the highest levels of performance with the smallest possible systems. That’s what the Mini ITX form factor is all about, and MSI has given ITX fans a lot to be excited about at Computex 2025.

MSI has three ITX motherboards to show us at Computex, all of which support PCIe 5.0, WIFI 7, and 5Gb LAN. They also come with the latest motherboard chipsets, which means they are ready for the most powerful CPUs from AMD and Intel.

MSI MPG X870I Edge Ti WIFI Mini ITX

For high-end AMD Ryzen users, MSI has the MPG X870I Edge Ti WIFI, which features a packed PCB and tons of connectivity options. The board is so packed that its PCB contains risers and daughterboards, allowing MSI to deliver features that no mini-ITX motherboards could offer otherwise.

This motherboard supports three M.2 SSDs, one of which is PCIe 5.0. The motherboard also features 40 Gbps USB4 support and features MSI’s Audio Boost 5 technology.

As an X870 chipset AM5 motherboard, the MSI X870I Edge supports CPUs as high-end as AMD’s Ryzen 9 9950X3D CPU, a 16-core processor with a TDP of 170W.

MSI has told us that this motherboard will be available in July with an MSRP of $309.

MSI MPG B850I Edge Ti and MPG B860I Edge Ti WIFI

On the lower-end of the mini ITX spectrum, we have new Intel B860 and AMD B850 motherboards from MSI. These new models lack some of the high-end features of MSI’s X870I Edge Ti. However, they still feature 5Gb LAN, WIFI 7, and PCIe 5.0 SSD support.

Both motherboards support two M.2 SSDs, WIFI 7, and have a “Lightning Gen 5 PCIe 5.0 x16 slot. Only the Intel B860I Edge Ti supports Thunderbolt 4, which supports 40 Gbps transfer speeds and 8K display support. Overall, these two motherboards are strong options for mini PC builders.

Both of these motherboards will be available in June with an MSRP of $269.

Honestly, it’s nice to see the Mini ITX form factor get some love and see MSI invest in a high-end mini ITX motherboard. Packing the features of larger motherboards into the mini ITX form factor isn’t easy, so props to MSI for building its MPG X870I Edge Ti WIFI. Not many manufacturers invest this heavily into the mini PC form factor.
