MSI's in-house overclocker Toppc has broken the DDR4 memory speed world record with memory clocks of over 5GHz. More impressive still is that this world record was achieved on MSI's MITX Z170I Gaming Pro AC, which is a mid-range motherboard from MSI and very inexpensive when compared to their flagship overclocking motherboards.

These memory speeds trump the highest memory speeds that have ever been achieved on DDR3, which is currently 4600MHz and is 100MHz higher than the second place DDR4 overclock.

These memory clocks are highly impressive, especially given the fact that most PC users haven't even achieved CPU overclocks of 5GHz.
