Next-Gen AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9000 CPUs spotted with Zen 5 cores
AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9000 series CPUs spotted in shipping manifests
AMD has just released its Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D CPUs, its new gaming/content creation flagship processors for its AM5 platform. Now, it looks like AMD is preparing to bring Zen 5 to another new market: workstations. Next-gen Zen 5-powered AMD Ryzen Threadripper CPUs have been spotted in shipping manifests (via Videocardz), and TRX50 and WRX90 users will soon have some upgrade options.
So far, AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper 9965X and 9975X have been spotted. These CPUs have 24 and 36 cores, respectively, and both have TDPs of 350W. This is more cores than any consumer-oriented AM5 processor.
While no CPUs with more cores have been listed, AMD is likely to release 64-core and 96-core Ryzen Threadripper 9000 series processors. After all, AMD did this with its Threadripper 7000 series. It has also been speculated that AMD has considered making 3D V-Cache enhanced Ryzen Threadripper X3D CPUs.

Currently, it is unknown when AMD will release its next-generation Threadripper and EPYC processors. AMD typically launched new Threadripper CPUs long after their Ryzen desktop and EPYC counterparts. That means we will likely be waiting until mid-late 2025 to see new AMD Zen 5 Threadripper CPUs come to market. That said, AMD could surprise us with an earlier-than-usual launch.
