Nvidia N1X CPU Performance Leaks – Single-threaded performance that rivals AMD and Intel

Geekbench results for an Nvidia N1X-based laptop from HP have leaked onto the web, unveiling how fast Nvidia’s first ARM-based laptop CPU will be. Videocardz was the first to report on these benchmarks, highlighting their single-threaded and multi-threaded performance.

Nvidia’s NX1 CPU features 20 ARM-based CPU cores that use a big.LITTLE design configuration. The chip reportedly features 10 Cortex-X925 cores and 10 Cortex-A725 cores. The benchmark below was conducted on Linux on a system with what appears to be 128GB of memory. Note that this CPU’s listed clock speed of 2.81 GHz likely doesn’t reflect the real operating speeds of Nvidia’s CPU.

Based on this result, Nvidia is offering single-threaded performance levels that are similar to those of high-end x86-based laptop CPUs. However, Nvidia’s multi-threaded performance falls short. Note that Nvidia’s N1X benchmarks were completed on Linux, making direct comparison with Windows-based Geekbench results less than ideal.

Nvidia’s N1X CPU merges the company’s GPU and AI technologies with an ARM processor. By doing this, Nvidia hopes to gain market share within the high-end notebook market, achieving what Qualcomm has been attempting for years with its ARM-based Windows systems.

Rumour has it that Nvidia ARM-powered notebooks will launch in late 2025 or early 2026. Alienware is reportedly working on gaming-oriented Nvidia/ARM-based systems. If Nvidia’s systems can handle gaming workloads without any major issues, they have the potential to gain a lot of market share.
