Retailer lists AMD Ryzen 9000 series CPUs with lower than expected pricing

It looks like AMD’s Zen 5 CPUs will be cheaper than Zen 4 was at launch

The Slovenian PC retailer Funtech (via Videocardz) has published listing for AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 9000 series CPUs. These listing reveal what could be the final retail pricing for AMD’s upcoming Zen 5 desktop CPUs. If these prices are correct, AMD’s Zen 5 CPUs will be cheaper than their Zen 4 predecessors were on day-1.

AMD’s flagship Zen 5 CPU, the Ryzen 9 9950X is listed with a price tag of €659.90. The 12-core Ryzen 9 9900X is listed for €499.90. The 8-core Ryzen 7 7700X is listed for €399.90, and the 6-core Ryzen 5 9600X is listed for €309.90.

At Computex 2024, AMD revealed that Zen 5 CPUs will become available in July 2024. That means that we should expect Ryzen 9000 series CPUs to become available later this month.

Hopefully, AMD will be revealing official pricing for their new Zen 5 CPUs soon. Let’s hope that these new chips are priced competitively, and that they perform well enough to be a worthwhile upgrade for PC builders. AMD has promises a 16% IPC uplift on average with their new Zen 5 CPU cores, and have showcases IPC gains as large as 34% in specific workloads.
