Ultimate Mobile Gaming CPU? – AMD to reveal Ryzen 9 9955HX3D at CES

AMD plans to reveal next-gen Ryzen X3D mobile GPUs in the near future

AMD is preparing to reveal their next generation of X3D-boosted mobile gaming CPUs. The leaker Golden Pig Upgrade has posted about a new AMD Ryzen 9 CPU called the 9955HX3D. This CPU should feature AMD’s X3D V-Cache technology and Zen 5 CPU cores.

AMD’s X3D V-Cache technology can deliver huge performance improvements during gaming workloads. Furthermore, they can also deliver increased CPU power efficiency during these workloads. These two changes make AMD’s X3D technology well-suited to the mobile CPU market. After all, these systems are often power-constrained and underperform their desktop counterparts.

This is not the first mobile AMD CPU to use the company’s X3D technology. For the Zen 4 product generation, AMD has the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D mobile CPU, which features 16 CPU cores and a TDP of 55W. We expect AMD’s Ryzen 9 9955HX3D to feature the same CPU core count, new Zen 5 CPU cores, and the latest iteration of its V-Cache technology. A non-X3D Ryzen 9 9955HX CPU will likely be revealed in the near future.

If AMD can deliver strong availability with this new X3D CPU, AMD could gain significant market share within the high-end mobile market. AMD’s X3D CPUs are incredibly successful within the desktop CPU market. Can AMD achieve similar gains in the mobile market?
