Alleged 4-slot GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition heatsink revealed

It looks like Nvidia’s RTX 5090 will be a 4-slot monster

A new heatsink design has been revealed on the PC Master Race Facebook group. This heatsink is allegedly for Nvidia’s RTX 5090 Founders Edition graphics card, a graphics card that will reportedly feature a 3-PCB design.

Based on the image below, this heatsink design places features three fans. One fan is at the front of the heatsink. Another is in the middle, and the final heatsink is in its rear. Overall, this heatsink uses a “flow-through” design, with its main PCB at the bottom of the graphics card. This PCB will feature the graphics card’s GPU core, memory, and primary power circuitry.

Below, we can see the base of this new GPU cooler design. Here is where the GPU’s primary PCB is mounted. When connected to a PC, this PCB will run parallel with a a user’s motherboard, and at a right angle to a standard PCIe slot connector. This is why this GPU’s PCIe connector will be on a secondary PCB.

Finally, the third PCB of this graphics card will feature the graphics card’s I/O connectors. This should include both the GPU’s HDMI and DisplayPort connections.

Overall, this new GPU design will have the appearance of an enlarged RTX 4090 Founders Edition. The leaked heatsink appears to be 4-slots wide. This leaked design also appears to use a 12V-2×6 power connector.

Overall, this heatsink design from Nvidia appears to have a lot more cooling capacity than their RTX 4090 Founders Edition heatsink. It’s flow-through design is an innovative one, though it remains to be seen if Nvidia will use with a mass production GPU model. After all, this heatsink appears to be a prototype, and it is similar to alleged RTX 4090 Ti prototype heatsinks.
