Amazon targets gamers with 4K 144Hz Mini LED Fire TVs
Amazon upgrades their Omni series of Fire TVs with Mini-LED tech and FreeSync Premium support
Amazon is catering to gamers with their newest Omni-series Fire TVs, using Mini LED technology and high refresh rate panels to deliver strong HDR support and strong gaming performance. This is the first Amazon Fire TV to support a refresh rate of over 60Hz.
These new Omni Mini-LED series screens feature QLED Mini LED panels with 1,344 local dimming zones. They also support peak brightness levels of 1,400 nits. These new screens are VRR compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro certified, making them ideal for PC and console gaming. They also support WIFI 6E, making them ideal for low-latency content streaming.
Amazon’s new Mini-LED TVs are now available now in 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch forms. Below are the prices of these new Mini LED TVs.
- Amazon Fire TV 55-inch Omni Mini-LED series – 4K 144Hz – £649.99
- Amazon Fire TV 65-inch Omni Mini-LED series – 4K 144Hz – £949.99
- Amazon Fire TV 75-inch Omni Mini-LED series – 4K 144Hz – £1299.99
As an Amazon TV, these new Omni displays feature built-in Fire TV technology. This gives users direct access to all of the apps and features that are included with Fire TV sticks. These TVs can also be controlled wirelessly through Alexa voice controls. Additionally, these screens feature four HDMI ports, allowing you to connect all of your devices easily. Sadly, only two of these ports are HDMI 2.1, limiting the number of devices that can utilise this screen’s 144Hz maximum refresh rate.
