AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE launch leaks ahead of Computex

AMD plans to globally launch its Radeon RX 9070 GRE with a higher-than-expected MSRP

Leaks, leaks, leaks; Videocardz has managed to get an early look at AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 GRE launch materials and has released them early. The CPU is launching worldwide on June 1st with an MSRP of $549.

AMD’s RX 9070 GRE was first released in China last year. This new GPU model has 12GB of GDDR6 memory over a 192-bit memory bus. It features fewer GPU cores (stream processors) than AMD’s RX 9070, but features higher clock speeds and the same TDP. Overall, this GPU should be slower than AMD’s RX 9070, but significantly faster than an RX 9060 XT.

Strangely, the RX 9070 GRE is launching with an MSRP of $549, matching AMD’s RX 9070 launch MSRP. In a world of inflated GPU prices, this move is disappointing, but not unexpected. Videocardz says that AMD’s marketing materials say that its RX 9070 is “starting at $619”.

AMD’s marketing slide states that new GRE graphics cards are coming from Acer, ASUS, ASRock, Gigabyte, PowerColor, Sapphire, and XFX.

RX 9070 GRE performance leaks

AMD reportedly claims that its RX 9070 GRE delivers 22% faster performance than an RTX 5060 Ti 16GB on average in games at 1440p. Against Nvidia’s RTX 5070, AMD’s RX 9070 GRE is reportedly 2% faster and 4% better value. These are AMD’s numbers, and they may differ from reviewers’.

We expect to hear more about AMD’s RX 9070 GRE GPU launch soon.
