AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT benchmark Score Leaks
AMD’s next-gen RX 9070 XT GPU bests their RX 7900 GRE in 3DMARK Time Spy
Thanks to All the Watts on Twitter/X, we have seen a 3DMARK Time Spy benchmark score for AMD’s upcoming RDNA 4-powered RX 9070 XT GPU. In this benchmark, AMD’s new GPU achieved a score of 22,894, which is enough to beat AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 GRE.
As always, leaked scores like this should be taken with a grain of salt. Beyond that, even if it is accurate, this score may have been achieved on non-final RDNA 4 GPU drivers, which could make the score lower than it could/should be. Regardless, this score is fairly impressive, assuming that AMD prices this GPU well.

Sadly, 3DMARK Time Spy scores aren’t indicative of gaming performance in modern titles. The benchmark was released in 2016 and was one of the first DirectX 12 benchmarks available. Games have changed a lot over the past eight years, meaning that this benchmark score doesn’t indicate real-world game performance. This is especially true once modern features like ray tracing are added.

AMD’s RDNA 4 RX 9070 XT will not best AMD’s RDNA 3 flagships in some benchmarks
If this benchmark score is correct, it is clear that AMD’s new Radeon RX 9070 XT will not best AMD’s RX 7900 XT and 7900 XTX GPUs in all workloads. AMD’s new RDNA 4 GPU may best these GPUs in areas where their architectural improvements have the most impact, but AMD’s older GPUs should have them beat in specific workloads. Does AMD have a faster Radeon RX 9080 XT in the works to best their RDNA 3 flagships?
