ASUS launches their compact GeForce RTX 4060 Dual V3

Smaller cooler, smaller fans – ASUS releases their RTX 4060 Dual V3 graphics card

ASUS have just released their third revision for their RTX 4060 Dual graphics card, the RTX 4060 Dual V3. Why redesign their RTX 4060 Dual GPU again? Who knows? That said, it is clear that ASUS have made changes their heatsink design with this new V3 model.

In terms of clock speeds, this new V3 model has the same base/boost clock speeds as other ASUS RTX 4060 Dual models. It has a 2490 MHz boost clock speed in OC mode, and a 2460 MHz boost in default mode. Like other dual-series GPUs, this new V3 model also features two fans for cooling. Note that for ASUS’ V3 model that they have used smaller fans to cool this specific graphics card.

Size-wise, this new GPU model is much smaller than its V1 counterpart and marginally smaller than its V2 counterpart. The V1 model was 2.5 PCIe slots wide, while both the V2 and V3 model are two-slots wide. Beyond that, it looks like ASUS’ new V3 model features a more basic cooling solution, hence the smaller cooling fans. Perhaps ASUS have found that their older V1 and V2 coolers were a little overkill for Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4060? Regardless, this is ASUS’ smallest RTX 4060 Dual series GPU.

Based on the images that we have seen for both GPUs, Nvidia’s RTX 4060 Dual version 2/3 GPUs appear to use the same PCB design. Only the GPU’s heatsink design appears to have changed. Is the V3 version a lesser model? We can’t confirm that unless we are able to look at and test both. Regardless, both feature the same clock speeds and what appears to be the same PCB. As such, both GPUs should perform near identically.
