ASUS’ “Best of Both Worlds” ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP “Dual Mode” gaming monitor is now available in the US

At CES 2024, ASUS revealed their ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP, a new “Dual Mode” gaming monitor that’s capable of running at 4K 240Hz or 1080p 480Hz. With these specs, this screen is a “best of both worlds” display, offering gamers a high refresh rate 4K experience and ultra high refresh rate 1080p support. Now, this ultra-high-end gaming display is available in the US, with an asking price of $1,299.99.

Before now, gamers needed to choose between ultra-high refresh rate 1080p gaming and high refresh rate 4K gaming. Now, thanks to “Dual Mode” displays, gamers can have both. This allows gamers to select 480Hz 1080p mode for fast-paced competitive titles, and 4K 240Hz for slower, single-player or story-driven titles.

With 0.03ms G2G response times, and a DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, this screen boasts ultra-fast response times and strong HDR support. ASUS also claims that this screen is 15% brighter than other “monitors of this class”, and presents clearer text with its “Clear Pixel Edge” tech.

Given this screen’s ultra-high-end specifications, this may be the ultimate gaming monitor. It’s use of a modern OLED displays ensures high levels of image quality. Beyond that, its “Dual Mode” support allows users to alter this screen’s specifications to suit their needs. 4K 240 support for story-driven games, and 1080p 480Hz for fast paced titles. What’s not to love?

Yes, this screen is expensive, but that has always been the case for high-end gaming displays. This is especially true for OLED monitors.
