ASUS unveils its RTX 5080 ProArt with wood accents and USB Type-C

ASUS’ RTX 5080 ProArt is ultra-compact and has neat wooden accents

ASUS has unveiled its RTX 5080 ProArt graphics card, a small form factor GPU design that features a USB Type-C display output and heatsink with natural wooden elements. This GPU was made to match ASUS’ ProArt PA602 Wood Edition PC case, with its wood elements giving it a Scandinavian aesthetic.

This GPU features up to 1858 TOPS of AI performance and 16GB of GDDR7 memory. It also features support for all of Nvidia’s RTX 50 series technologies, like DLSS 4, Multi Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, and Nvidia Reflex 2 with Frame Warp.

ASUS has made this graphics card Nvidia SFF compatible, making it ready for ultra-compact systems. The GPU also uses ASUS’ exclusive “MaxContact” cooling technology, using a vapour chamber to cool this GPU’s VRAM and graphics core. GPU is cooled using three fans and is 2.5-slots thick. This makes this GPU ideal for professional setups, where additional add-on cards are more likely to be utilised. Note that this GPU also uses a Phase-Change thermal instead of traditional thermal paste.

Potent cooling in a slim design

To accommodate the specialized needs of creators, the ProArt GeForce RTX 5080 graphic cards feature a slimmed-down 2.5-slot design. It can fit into many smaller PC cases, offering broad compatibility with today’s most popular chassis. Additionally, creators are more likely than others to populate their PCIe x16 expansion slots with add-in cards that boost their system’s capabilities or connectivity, so a narrower graphics card makes room for more functionality.

Even with its slim-and-trim profile, this card is still equipped for potent cooling. It features the ASUS-exclusive MaxContact design with vapor chamber cooling for efficient heat transfer from both the GPU and VRAM. Between its heatsink and the GPU, traditional thermal paste has been swapped out for a premium phase-change thermal pad, which not only optimizes heat transfer but also the longevity of the thermal interface material. Additionally, a trio of Axial-tech fans keep a steady stream of cooling air moving through the heatsink while minimizing distracting fan noise.

ASUS

Honestly, this is one of the best-looking RTX 5080 GPUs that ASUS has produced. Its compact size also makes it ideal for users who utilise add-on cards. If you use USB Type-C displays, this GPU is also perfect. After all, how many new GPUs support USB Type-C without an adapter?
