Cable-free gaming power! Sapphire RX 9070 XT Phantom Link GPU unveiled
Sapphire’s Radeon RX 9070 XT Phantom Link has been unboxed in China
Sapphire has created a new RDNA 4 flagship, the Radeon RX 9070 XT Nitro+ Phantom Link, which has now been unboxed in China. This GPU is an enhanced version of Sapphire’s existing Nitro+ model, offering users both 12V-2×6 and GC-HPWR power inputs. This enables the GPU to be powered by BTF motherboards, providing cable-free power delivery.
Phantom Link is Sapphire’s branding for BTF/GC-HPWR power connectivity. We saw an early version of this GPU at Computex 2025 alongside a “PhantomLink” motherboard. Currently, it is unclear whether Sapphire prefers “PhantomLink” or “Phantom Link”.

The GC-HPWR connector on this new Sapphire GPU is removable. This is why this GPU also has a 12V-2×6 power connector. This GPU supports both standard and BTF-style motherboards. This means that users can use on-motherboard BTF power connectors or direct-to-PSU power cables.
Aside from the inclusion of its new power delivery system, this GPU looks externally identical to Sapphire’s existing Radeon RX 9070 XT Nitro+ graphics card. Note that it is currently unknown if this GPU has the same power limit and GPU clock speeds as Sapphire’s standard Nitro+ GPU.
Since it is so close to Christmas/New Year’s, we do not expect Sapphire’s new Nitro+ Phantom Link GPU to become available until 2026. Pricing information for this GPU is currently unknown. It is unknown when/if Sapphire plans to release a “PhantomLink” series motherboard.
