Detailed AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE Specifications Leak
Is AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 GRE going to become a mid-range GPU champion?
Following our report of Radeon RX 9070 GRE specifications last week, Videocardz has revealed more detailed specifications for the new RDNA 4 graphics card. Mostly, these specifications are identical to those we have previously reported on. However, they reveal a GPU boost clock speed of 2.79 GHz. That’s higher than AMD’s Radeon RX 9070.
In compute terms, this places AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 GRE close to AMD’s RX 9070 (34.3 TFLOPs vs 36.1 TFLOPs). However, AMD’s new RX 9070 GRE also features a slimmed-down memory bus (192-bit VS 256-bit) and less GDDR6 memory (12GB VS 16GB). Furthermore, the RX 9070 GRE also features slower GDDR6 memory (18 Gbps VS 20 Gbps).
With the Radeon RX 9070 GRE, AMD is filling the gap between their Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9060 XT. Like their other RDNA 4 GPUs, AMD hopes to deliver strong value for money with this new release. Through these aggressive clock speeds, AMD hopes to deliver great value for PC gamers.

Currently, it is unknown if AMD’s RX 9070 GRE will be released outside of China. Most AMD GRE series GPUs are exclusive to China and other Asian markets. That said, this GPU’s predecessor, the RX 7900 GRE, was eventually released globally.
AMD’s rumoured GRE reportedly uses the same Navi 48 silicon as AMD’s RX 9070 XT. This means this GPU will have 25% of its silicon’s compute units and memory bus disabled. This makes this graphics card much weaker than AMD’s RX 9070 XT or RX 9070.
Currently, the performance levels and pricing of this new GRE GPU are unknown. Given its use of 12GB of memory, this GPU likely targets RTX 5070-like performance while aiming for much lower pricing. This makes a $429-$469 price point seem likely. If AMD can deliver this GPU at a reasonable price and with plenty of supply, it would be a great addition to the mid-range GPU market.
