Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Devs are working on Multi-GPU Support

 

The Coalition, the developer of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, say that they are working on Multi-GPU Support and performance optimizations for the title.

The game has had plenty of issues on a wide number of PC users since launch, especially on users of AMD GPUs and those who use monitors with Variable Refresh rate technologies like G-Sync and FreeSync.

Below is a quote from a tweet by the Coalition’s Rod Fergusson saying that they are currently working on Multi-GPU support. This question was in response to a user who claimed that the game had a locked framerate, though this is only a partial truth as the game caps the framerate at the monitor refresh rate, but us fully variable when below it. 

 

       We are working on multi-GPU and if you unlock framerate it runs at monitor framerate so may need to bump it up.

  

 

The dev team are currently working on several performance optimizations for the title, which will hopefully solve the performance issues and instability on AMD GPUs. The quote below is from The Coalition’s PezRadar on the gears of War Forums. 

 

      We do not have any news to share at this time for the PC version. I know some are worried but please don’t fret. We are wanting to make sure polish and performance are prioritized on the PC version so that you all have a great experience. 

 

When Gear of War: Ultimate Edition launched on PC last week the game was a disaster, performing badly on AMD platforms, refusing to download for many users and having several other issues that are unique to games that are Exclusive to the Windows 10 Store.
