Hands-on with ASUS’ 800W ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Edition 20 GPU
We got hands-on with ASUS’ new 800W ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Edition 20 GPU at Computex 2026
OC3D is at Computex 2026, and we got hands-on with ASUS’ premium ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Edition 20 GPU. This GPU is part of ASUS’ “Edition 20” product line, which celebrates the 20th anniversary of the company’s ROG brand.
What we have here is a GPU that’s similar to ASUS’ ROG Matrix RTX 5090, but with some exciting twists. For starters, we have a curved AMOLED display that supports dynamic 3D visuals, custom content, or real-time hardware data. This GPU can also handle up to 800W of power through its 12V-2×6 power connector and BTF high-power adapter.
Edition 20
Like ASUS’ other “Edition 20” products, this custom RTX 5090 model boasts a black and gold colour scheme. This GPU also gets some added premium flair thanks to its transparent glass backplate. This GPU also uses liquid metal to enhance its cooling performance. This GPU also features a 4-fan cooler design and a combination of heat pipes and a vapour chamber to deliver excellent cooling performance. This GPU is much beefier than a standard RTX 5090.
This could be ASUS’ most premium RTX 5090 graphics card to date. Clearly, this model draws on many design elements from the ROG RTX 5090 Matrix, but its added OLED screen and other features make it distinct.
The display on this GPU can also be used with other ROG Edition 20 products to create a seamlessly synchronised setup. This allows several smaller screens to act like a single, larger screen. Yes, it’s a bit gimmicky, but it is a cool party trick.
Like the ROG Matrix RTX 5090 before it, this GPU will only operate at its best with a BTF-compatible motherboard. That said, we would expect a user of such a high-end ASUS GPU to also pair it with a suitable ASUS motherboard, like the ROG Crosshair X870E Edition 20.
