Intel showcases excellent overclocking support for ARC Battlemage GPUs
Intel had given ARC Battlemage a lot of overclocking potential!
Intel has revealed its new Intel Graphics Software, a new application that will be available with the company’s ARC Battlemage B580 and B570 GPUs. Within this new app, Intel has revealed “Expanded overclocking capabilities” for their new ARC graphics cards. This includes power limit adjustment, memory overclocking, VF/Curve optimisation, and more.
ARC users can directly overclock their graphics cards within the Intel Graphics App. Below, we can see that memory speeds can be adjusted from 19 Gbps up to 22 Gbps, and that GPU power limits can be increased by up to 20%. GPU temperature limits can also be adjusted.
Below, we can see that Intel is leaving a lot of performance available to overclockers with ARC Battlemage. Below, we can see the impact of GPU Clock Residency at stock settings and after various settings are tweaked. With all tweaks enabled, the clock speeds of Intel’s A580 GPU are mostly in the 3150MHz range. At stock, it mostly sits in the 2800 MHz range. That’s a 12.5% boost in GPU clock speed from overclocking.
With Intel’s ARC B580 already delivering strong value for money out of the box, an additional 12.5% overclocking boost is a great extra for those who enjoy tweaking their systems. Intel already claims that their new A580 is 10% faster than Nvidia’s RTX 4060 on average. Add on overclocking, and that performance gap expands significantly.
While we don’t expect all ARC B-series GPUs to overclock well, it is clear that Intel has left some performance on the table for overclockers. That’s great news for those who enjoy overclocking. After all, who doesn’t want a “free” performance boost?
