Intel Tease “Big Graphics News” – ARC reveal incoming?

Intel plans to reveal their next-gen ARC GPUs on December 3rd – Teaser suggests

Intel has started to tease their next generation of ARC graphics cards. “We’ve got some big graphics news,” Intel says, asking gamers to “Join us [on] Dec. 3, 2024.” This lines up perfectly with a recent leak that revealed a December 3rd reveal date for Intel’s ARC B570 and B580 GPUs. That leak revealed a December 12th launch date for Intel’s “Limited Edition” B-series GPUs.

Intel will be moving to its new Xe2 graphics architecture with its next generation of graphics cards. With this architecture, Intel will address many of the performance issues that affected its last-generation GPUs and strengthen aspects like AI performance and ray tracing. Other additions like SIMB16 support will also improve game compatibility.

Intel appears to be showcasing the “Intel Special Edition” design of one of their upcoming ARC B-series GPUs in the Tweet/tease above. Based on what we can see, our guess is that Intel’s teaser depicts a dual-slot graphics card with a dual-fan heatsink design. As such, we expect this GPU to target the mid-range GPU market. After all, higher-end GPUs tend to have much larger heatsinks.

Videocardz has suggested that Intel’s ARC B580 and B570 GPUs will have 20 and 18 Xe2 cores, respectively. Currently, the clock speeds and memory configuration of Intel’s B570 are unknown. As such, we cannot speculate on this GPU’s pricing or performance levels. Regardless, with the reveal being next week, we are likely to hear more about both GPUs very soon.
