LG launches its first UltraGear Evo Hyper Mini LED 5K Gaming Monitor
LG delivers ultra-sharpness with its 5K Hyper Mini LED 27GM950B monitor
LG has officially released its new UltraGear Evo AI GM9 (27GM950B) 5K Hyper Mini LED monitor. This new 27-inch gaming screen boasts a 5K resolution with a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz. Furthermore, with Dual Mode, this screen also supports 1440p at up to 330Hz.
This screen features a 1ms GtG response time for minimal ghosting and VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified HDR support. This screen has 2,304 local dimming zones, with “Hyper Mini LED” technology that minimises light leakage from the monitor’s backlight. This minimises bloom and halo effects.
One interesting feature of this display is its integrated “built-in AI upscaling”, which can sharpen content towards 5K when 1080p (or higher) content is input. This feature promises finer details and sharper definition without added latency. This monitor also boasts AMD FreeSync Premium support and Nvidia G-Sync Compatibility, enabling strong VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) support.
Input-wise, this screen supports DisplayPort 2.1 with UHBR20 support, and USB Type-C with up to 90W of power delivery. This monitor also features two HDMI 2.1 inputs.
At $1,199.99, this is an expensive gaming display. With its 5K resolution, this display is only for gamers who have ultra-high-end gaming PCs. That said, its 330Hz 1440p mode should appeal to gamers who want to target higher framerates in games and have a higher resolution desktop.
