Lightning Returns? MSI reveals their RTX 5090 Special Edition GPUs

MSI takes Nvidia’s RTX 5090 to the next level with their custom “Special Edition” GPU models

This week, Nvidia launched their RTX 50 series of graphics cards, with their new GeForce RTX 5090 acting as the series’ flagship. MSI, taking inspiration from Nvidia’s RTX 5090 Founders Edition (FE), has created two new “Special Edition” that take Nvidia’s new flagship to the next level.

First up, we have the MSI RTX 5090 Special Edition Liquid Cooling model. This GPU features four 120mm fans and an all-in-one liquid cooling solution that has two 120mm liquid cooling radiators.

This GPU model is designed to deliver exceptional levels of cooling performance with its overbuilt cooling solution.

Next, we have MSI’s Special Edition Air Cooling model, which uses a 5-fan cooling solution with MSI’s STORMFORCE fans. This GPU is essentially a built-up version of MSI’s RTX 5090 FE GPU. It features a dual flow-through design, with each side of the GPU having a push/pull heatsink/fan setup.

Both of these Special Edition GPUs should feature a factory overclock.

These new GPUs from MSI feature a design and colour scheme reminiscent of the company’s “Lightning” series graphics cards.
