MSI aims for esports dominance with its 600Hz MPG 242R X60N monitor
MSI’s newest monitor is crazy fast, surpassing the 60 FPS standard by 10x
When it comes to esports, speed is king. The faster you can react, the better you will perform in competitive gaming environments. MSI has launched its MPG 242R X60N gaming monitor, a crazy-fast 600Hz Rapid TN display that boasts 0.1ms G2G response times.
While 60 FPS remains the performance target of many gamers, this screen surpasses that by a factor of 10x. You’ll need a powerful PC to run games at framerates this high. That said, most of today’s most competitive games are lightweight by design.
We saw the MSI MPG 242R X60N at Computex 2025, and it boasts some impressive specifications. This new gaming screen features a 24.1-inch Rapid-TN panel with 0.5ms response times. This enables high levels of motion clarity for a TN monitor type. However, it should be noted that this monitor uses a 1080p panel.
The MPG 242R X60N is targeted at the esports market, offering users an optimal screen size with minimal levels of input latency. The screen has two HDMI 2.0b inputs and one DisplayPort 1.4 input. The screen also features a 3-way USB hub. This monitor also features a USB-Type-C input with 98W power delivery and supports DisplayPort Alt input options.
MSI promises reduced motion blur tech and ghosting using MPRT Sync technology. The screen also supports 4:3 resolutions of 1280Ã960 and 1024Ã768 at 600Hz, a useful feature for playing classic FPS titles.
MSI has not revealed the price of this new 600Hz monitor. However, TFT Central has reported that this screen will cost $999.
