Nvidia’s RTX 4070 Ti SUPER graphics cards launched yesterday, and MSI have uncovered that some of their models are not performing as expected. To address this, the company has now released new BIOS updates for their VENTUS 3X, Ventus 2x, and Gaming X SLIM GPU models. These updates promise gamers boosted performance.
MSI has recommended that the users of their affected RTX 4070 Ti SUPER graphics cards update their GPU BIOS’ to ensure an optimal gaming experience. MSI has claimed that their new BIOS’ will “meet and exceed” expected benchmark performance levels. Below is MSI’s full statement on the matter.

While it may be annoying to have to update the BIOS of a newly released graphics card, it is great to see that MSI have addressed these performance concerns so quickly. These release of these BIOS updates have created an incredibly annoying situation for reviewers. Many reviewers were giving these BIOS updates days ahead of Nvidia’s RTX 4070 Ti SUPER launch. This meant that a lot of retesting needed to be completed within a short timeframe.
From now on, all of MSI’s affected models should be manufactured and shipped with updated BIOS files. However, anyone who purchases one of these affected models should ensure that their GPU BIOS is up to date.
