MSI revives its Cyclone series with an RTX 5060 model
Meet MSI’s RTX 5060 Cyclone OC, a revival of a classic design
MSI has revived its Cyclone series of graphics cards, embracing the retro aesthetic of its classic design with new RTX 50 series models. This revival started at Computex with the MSI RTX 5070 Cyclone Visual, and continues with their RTX 5060 Cyclone OC.
As an RTX 5060 graphics card, MSI’s new Cyclone OC model features 3840 CUDA cores and 8GB of GDDR7 memory. Thanks to Nvidia’s Blackwell GPU architecture, this GPU also supports DLSS 4 upscaling and multi-frame generation.

A single 8-pin PCIe power connector powers this new graphics card. For cooling, the Cyclone uses a single fan over an exposed heatsink. While Nvidia’s RTX 5060 is a low-end graphics card, it retains support for four display outputs, with a single HDMI 2.1 connector and three DisplayPort 2.1 outputs.
Like older MSI Cyclone designs, the RTX 5060 Cyclone uses an aluminium extruded sunflower heatsink design with dense fins. This cooler is extended by two heatpipes that connect to two dense fin stacks.
Since this new GPU is listed on MSI’s website, we expect the new retro-inspired graphics card to reach retailers relatively soon. Note that MSI has not unveiled the pricing of this new graphics card. However, we expect it to be on the more affordable side of the RTX 5060 spectrum.
