MSI RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti slides leak – VRAM capacities confirmed
MSI RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti slides leak – VRAM capacities confirmed
Based on the image below, MSI’s RTX 3080 Ti will share the same cooler and PCB design as their RTX 3080 SUPRIM model, and that RTX 3070 Ti will share the same PCB/cooler design as their RTX 3070 model. This leads us to conclude that Nvidia’s RTX 3080 Ti uses Nvidia’s GA102 silicon and that Nvidia’s RTX 3070 Ti uses Nvidia’s GA304 silicon, offering more enabled SMs/shaders than their lower-end Non-Ti variants.Â
Subsequent slides also confirm that Nvidia’s RTX 3080 Ti will feature 12GB of GDDR6X memory and that MSI’s RTX 3070 Ti will feature 8GB of memory. Prior leaks have suggested that Nvidia’s RTX 3070 Ti will offer 8GB of GDDR6X memory to offer more memory bandwidth than Nvidia’s GDDR6-powered RTX 3070, though this has not been confirmed. Â
Nvidia’s RTX 30 Ti series graphics cards are likely to be launched with Nvidia’s latest Anti-Ethereum mining limiters, lowering the hash rate of these new graphics cards to combat crypto-mining demand. This effort is designed to help these graphics cards reach gamers, giving more gamers access to Nvidia’s RTX feature set. This effort is designed to help limit AMD’s market share gains amongst PC gamers, as Nvidia graphics cards are currently seeing the strongest demand from cryptocurrency miners.Â
