Nvidia brings forward its RTX 5050 Desktop launch to early July
GPU shortages expected during Nvidia’s RTX 5050 launch as partners scramble to meet deadlines
According to MEGAsizeGPU on Twitter/X, Nvidia has moved its RTX 5050 Desktop GPU launch from late July to July 1st, creating an unrealistic deadline for Nvidia’s partners.
Nvidia’s GPU partners are reportedly unable to ship large quantities of Nvidia’s RTX 5050 to meet this deadline. Based on this deadline, Nvidia’s RTX 5050 will not be widely available when it launches. Furthermore, this GPU is expected to launch without any review coverage. With Nvidia moving its release date forward, Nvidia’s partners will not have enough time to send samples to reviewers ahead of launch. If Nvidia’s RTX 5060 launch is anything to go by, pre-launch GPU drivers are unlikely to be available to reviewers ahead of launch.
NVIDIA suddenly informed all AIC that the desktop RTX 5050's launch date has been rescheduled to July 1st. The former launch date was the end of July. IDK why Nvidia made this award decision since no card can be shipped on July 1st.

Nvidia’s RTX 5050 specifications leaked earlier this month. Nvidia’s RTX 5050 reportedly features 8GB of GDDR6 memory and 2560 CUDA cores. This GPU features faster memory than Nvidia’s last-generation RTX 4060 and fewer CUDA cores. However, it is expected to feature a higher TDP and higher GPU clock speeds. This could make Nvidia’s RTX 5050 similar to Nvidia’s RTX 4060 in performance terms.
