Nvidia makes heavy cuts to GPU supply in China – Report

Nvidia reportedly makes a 30% cut to its planned GPU supply in China

A report on Board Channels has claimed that Nvidia is reducing its supply of GPUs by 30% in China. Currently, it is unknown how Nvidia’s GPU supply is impacted in other regions. If this report is true, Nvidia’s supply of GPUs may not be enough to meet demand, which will force price increases on consumers. This report aligns with earlier leaks that claimed that Nvidia planned to reduce its GPU supply in Q1 2026.

Nvidia has confirmed that its supply of GeForce graphics cards is “constrained“, by “memory supply”. This is likely what has forced Nvidia to reduce its GPU supply to China. After all, you can’t produce more graphics cards if you can’t get enough GDDR7 memory.

Another recent report from Board Channels has claimed that Nvidia is focusing the bulk of its GPU supply on three low-VRAM GPU models. 75% of Nvidia’s new GPU supply is allocated to the 8GB RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti, and 12GB RTX 5070. If this report is correct, Nvidia’s higher-capacity VRAM models account for only 25% of its GPU supply.

Nvidia has officially acknowledged that it is memory-constrained. With this in mind, reports that Nvidia is reducing its graphics card supply seem plausible. In recent weeks, we have already seen the baseline pricing of many Nvidia GPUs rise in the UK. This is especially true for Nvidia’s 32GB RTX 5090.
