Nvidia RTX 5080 Mobile GPU revealed through Laptop listing
Nvidia RTX 5080 Mobile and Intel Arrow Lake CPU spotted in new HP OMEN MAX 16-inch gaming laptop
Thanks to @MysteryLupin on Twitter/X, we have received a glimpse of a new RTX 5080 (mobile) powered OMEN MAX laptop from HP. This new laptop features an Intel Ultra 9 275HX (Arrow Lake) CPU and an RTX 50 series GPU. All-new hardware for HP’s new OMEN MAX machine.
Now, it seems increasingly likely that Nvidia will launch both their RTX 50 series desktop and laptop GPUs at CES 2025. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Nvidia’s RTX 50 series GPUs will be available to consumers simultaneously. After all, a CES reveal doesn’t necessarily imply an imminent retail release.
Currently, the specifications for Nvidia’s mobile RTX 5080 GPU are unknown. It is expected to feature fewer CUDA cores and a lower TDP than its desktop counterpart, giving it an entirely different performance profile. With this in mind, one has to wonder why Nvidia doesn’t call their mobile GPUs M-series anymore (RTX 5080M). After all, Nvidia’s mobile RTX 5080 is in no way comparable to its desktop counterpart given its size and TDP differences.

We expect to see a lot of new hardware at CES 2025. We will see new laptop CPUs from both AMD and Intel, as well as new graphics cards from both Nvidia and AMD. Big changes are coming to the PC market, and we will see them all at CES.
