Nvidia surges ahead of Apple, becoming the world’s most valuable company

Nvidia is now the world’s most valuable company

With a market cap of $3.431 trillion, Nvidia is now the world’s most valuable company, surpassing Apple. On Tuesday, the company surpassed Apple’s market cap of $3.4 trillion, cementing Nvidia as the new leader, at least for now.

Nvidia’s recent success can be attributed to its long-term investments in AI. These investments started paying off in 2019, and the company’s value has increased by over 2,000% since then. While Nvidia was previously seen as a gaming company, its GPU technology has since been transformed to turn it into the world’s premiere AI company. Gaming is now a relatively small part of Nvidia’s business.

It’s worth noting that the AI ambitions of most of the world’s most valuable companies rely on Nvidia hardware. This includes the AI efforts of Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet (Google), and Meta. So long as there is investment in AI, Nvidia will continue to be successful.

(Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang)

Nvidia’s success has made its CEO, Jensen Huang, one of the world’s richest men. Huang is currently estimated to be worth $122.1 billion, making him 11th on Forbes’ Billionaire list. For context, this means that Jensen Huang is worth more than Intel, which has a market cap of around 100 billion.

This isn’t the first time Nvidia has surpassed Apple. They achieved this goal earlier this year. However, changes in stock values caused Apple to surge ahead of Nvidia again. Will Nvidia stay on top for long? That depends on the stock market.
