Quantum Breaks is a game that was promised from the start to deliver a unique gameplay experience by combining the elements of a live-action TV drama with choice based gameplay. At the end of each act of the game there is a live-action episode to follow it up, which will feature changes and alterations depending on your choices within the game.

Quantum Break will have these Live-Action Episodes streamed to those who play the game, adding the requirement of a internet connection but saving a lot of hard drive and disk space. On the Xbox one these episodes will be streamed in 1080p and on PC these episodes will be streamed at a maximum resolution of 4K (according to Game Informer), which would take up a huge amount of disk space.

We have 40 different variations of the show in total where basically your choices get to make it evolve and change whether it’s from a junction choice or we have these things called ‘Quantum Ripples’ which essentially unlocked sort of deleted scenes from the show,

Then combined with that, the show length can change based on your decisions because some episodes are longer as a result and some episodes are shorter. It basically evolves and that’s why we needed to stream it.

What Remedy have done here is removed the need to ship the game with multiple Blu Ray disks or require an insane amount of storage and replaced it with the need to have a strong enough internet connection for video streaming.

Given the limited storage capacity of consoles and of our own PCs, I personally think this move is a good decision, provided that Remedy has enough server power on their end to stream the content to gamers, which could be a tricky proposition on the first few days the game is available.

Quantum Break will be coming to the PC and Xbox One, with the PC version being exclusive to the Microsoft Store. Below are the games system requirements.
