Rumoured RTX 3080 Ti benchmarks place the GPU extremely close to Nvidia’s RTX 3090

Based on his video, Nvidia’s RTX 3080 Ti graphics card will feature 20GB of 19Gbps GDDR6X memory, 10496 CUDA cores and a TDP of 350W. This makes this graphics card almost identical to Nvidia’s RTX 3090 graphics card, with the only major difference being its use of slower GDDR6X memory and its user of a 20GB frame buffer over a 320-bit memory bus. 

If this leak is true, Nvidia’s RTX 308 Ti will be an RTX 3090 with 4GB less VRAM, a smaller memory bus and slower GDDR6X memory. This would give the graphics card performance levels almost identical to Nvidia’s RTX 3090 graphics card outside of memory limited workloads. 

Even if this information proves to be false, it is worth noting that the performance gap between Nvidia’s RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 graphics cards is not that large, making any RTX 3080 Ti or RTX 3080 Super GPU design likely to make the RTX 3090 practically obsolete if its pricing is lower. If a 20GB RTX 3080 Ti or Super graphics cards releases for $999, Nvidia’s RTX 3090 will immediately lose any sense of “value”, a factor which was already questionable for the often $1,499+ graphics card.
