Samsung launches the world’s first 500Hz OLED gaming monitor

PC gamers can now buy Samsung’s 500Hz OLED gaming monitor, the Odyssey G6 G60SF

Samsung has officially launched the world’s fastest OLED gaming monitor, the 500Hz Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SF). This is the company’s first 500Hz OLED monitor, boasting a 27-inch 1440p (QHD) panel and 0.3ms response times.

This screen is now available in the US for $999.99. Sadly, this screen is currently unavailable in the UK, though that is expected to change soon.

This monitor is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified, and is both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro Certified and Nvidia G-Sync Compatible. The screen features a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and a glare-free coating to minimise screen reflections. Additionally, the screen is Pantone validated, ensuring highly accurate colour production for developers and artists.

The 27-inch Odyssey OLED G6 delivers an entirely new level of gaming performance. With a world-leading 500Hz refresh rate, an ultra-fast 0.03ms response time (GTG), and QHD (2,560 x 1,440) resolution powered by QD-OLED technology, the monitor ensures games remain fluid, sharp, and responsive – even during the most intense action. Certified with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500, the Odyssey OLED G6 delivers vivid colours and ultra-deep, true blacks. It supports NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for smoother, tear-free visuals and a competitive edge.

With a resolution of 1440p, a 500Hz refresh rate, and ultra-fast response times, this new OLED screen is ideal for high refresh rate PC gaming. This screen is perfect for competitive online shooters and other titles that can be played at such high framerates. Note that this screen also features Samsung’s OLED Safeguard+ technology, which is designed to mitigate burn-in risks.

The Odyssey OLED G6 is designed for people who demand peak performance across long gaming sessions. With a peak brightness of 1,000 nits4 and Samsung’s Glare Free technology, gamers experience minimal screen reflections, allowing them to focus solely on the action. To maintain visual quality over time, the monitor is protected with Samsung OLED Safeguard+, which helps to prevent burn-in even during extended use, and has a three-year warranty.

Additionally, the Odyssey OLED G6 is Pantone Validated, ensuring highly accurate color reproduction, with the ability to display over 2,100 colors and more than 110 SkinTone shades from Pantone’s library. Combined with its brilliant QD-OLED display, the monitor delivers vivid, true-to-life visuals that bring gaming worlds to life just as developers intended.

Samsung

Right now, this is the fastest OLED monitor available, though that may change soon with the release of LG’s next-generation OLED panels. Competition is heating up within the OLED monitor market, and refresh rates are getting absurd.
