Samsung reveals the worlds first 500Hz OLED gaming monitor

Samsung pushes its OLED monitor tech to new heights with its 500Hz Odyssey OLED G6 gaming screen

Samsung has officially revealed the world’s fastest OLED gaming monitor, the 500Hz Odyssey OLED G6. This is the company’s first 500Hz OLED monitor, boasting a 27-inch 1440p (QHD) panel and 0.3ms response times.

This screen will be available first in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia and in other markets later this year. This monitor is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified, and is both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro Certified and Nvidia G-Sync Compatible. The screen features a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and a glare-free coating to minimise screen reflections. Additionally, the screen is Pantone validated, ensuring highly accurate colour production for developers and artists.

With a resolution of 1440p, a 500Hz refresh rate, and ultra-fast response times, this new OLED screen is ideal for high refresh rate PC gaming. This screen is perfect for competitive online shooters and other titles that can be played at such high framerates. Note that this screen also features Samsung’s OLED Safeguard+ technology, which is designed to mitigate burn-in risks.

In Singapore, Samsung has listed this 500Hz OLED screen with a $1488.00 price tag. In the UK, this price translates to almost £875. This makes it an incredibly expensive monitor. That said, this is the fastest OLED screen available, at least for now.
