Seasonic lists next-gen AMD Radeon RX 8800 XT on their PSU calculator

Seasonic lists AMD’s next-gen Radeon RX 8800 XT as a 220W GPU

Seasonic’s PSU calculator has been updated to include a new GPU from AMD. This graphics card is the AMD Radeon RX 8800 XT, the company’s rumoured RDNA 4 flagship. This GPU listing was spotted by @Tennessee_ on Twitter/X.

Seasonic’s website suggests that AMD’s RX 8800 XT will be a 220W GPU with two 8-pin PCIe power connectors. Note that this TDP is lower than AMD’s RX 7800 XT, which has a TDP of 263W. However, it is worth noting that Seasonic may have out-of-date or inaccurate information in their PSU calculator.

Rumour has it that AMD’s Radeon RX 8800 XT aims to deliver RTX 4080 levels of rasterisation and ray tracing performance. For non-ray tracing workloads, the GPU will reportedly compete with AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX. For ray tracing workloads, this new RDNA 4 GPU is reportedly much faster. If true, AMD will have delivered a tremendous boost to its GPU power efficiency with RDNA 4. Near RTX 4080 performance levels at 220W would be insane!

AMD is reportedly planning to reveal RDNA 4 and their Radeon RX 8800 XT at CES 2025. The GPU should become available to purchase in January, with AMD making market share a priority for this new architecture. Expect aggressive pricing from AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture, as AMD will need it if they want to chip away at Nvidia’s dominance.

With RDNA 4 and their planned introduction of FSR 4, 2025 may be a great year for AMD. Even so, it remains to be seen if RDNA 4 will live up to the hype surrounding it. Regardless, 2025 will be an exciting year for the GPU market.
