TechN’s brings sexy back to the liquid cooling market with non-RGB RX 6000 series water blocks
Last month, TechN launched their first GPU water block for AMD’s RX 6000 series, a design catered to the reference PCBs of AMD’s RX 6800, RX 6800 XT and RX 6900 XT designs, offering users a pure copper water block and a machined acetal top. This block proves that you don’t need RGB to make a sexy liquid-cooled PC.  Â
Being a newcomer to the liquid cooling market, TechN has ensured that it delivers quality to its users, offering their Radeon RX 6000 series water block with Arctic MX-2 thermal compound and pre-applied thermal pads. The block’s optional full-cover water block also offers users additional passive cooling potential thanks to the backplate’s pre-applied thermal pad, which cools the rear of the GPU’s core. Â
At this time, TechN has not created a water block for Nvidia’s RTX 30 series, though that may change soon.Â
 Â
With relatively few major brands within the custom liquid cooling market, we are always happy to see more companies enter the fray. More competition is always good for consumers, making us incredibly happy to see TechN enter the market.Â
Aesthetically, TechN has already shown us that they have what it takes to challenge the liquid cooling market’s largest manufacturers. Still, without in-depth testing, we cannot comment on the performance of their water blocks.Â
With their Radeon RX 6800(XT)/6900XT water block costing â¬136.90, it is clear that TechN is targeting similar pricing to competitors like EK. That said, with blocks that look this good, there’s a reason why TechN can charge these prices. Â
 Â
Alongside their new Radeon water blocks, TechN has launched a new copper AM4 water block to complement their existing nickel-plated AM4 cold plate designs.Â
With a price tag of â¬94.90, this block is not a budget-oriented model. That said, nothing about liquid cooling a PC is budget-friendly, as it is inherently a premium experience. Should users desire that look, this block ships with a 4-pin 12V RGB LED strip for block illumination. Â
With their AM4 water block, TechN promises users “best-in-class cooling capacity” and a design that is “optimized for AMD Ryzen 5000”. With a price tag of â¬94.90, this water block is much more affordable than many competing socket-specific AM4 water blocks.Â
