The Ultimate Portable Capture card? Meet AVerMedia’s Ultra Gamer (HDMI) 2.1

AVerMedia launches their first external HDMI 2.1 capture card, the Live Gamer Ultra 2.1

The HDMI 2.1 capture card revolution is upon us. AVerMedia have launched their first HDMI 2.1 capture card, the Live Gamer Ultra 2.1. This external capture device offers users support for up to 4K 144Hz HDR pass-through with 4K 60 FPS capture support. Now, streamers will no longer need to rely on the limited capabilities of HDMI 2.0 capture devices, something that previously restricted them to 4K 60 FPS pass-through. Back at

With HDMI 2.1 consoles being available for almost three years now, and 4K 120Hz compatible TVs and monitors are now readily available at lower prices than ever before. The consumer capture card market has lagged behind the capabilities of modern gaming systems. Thanks to AverMedia, streamers now have access to a capture card that supports up to 4K 144Hz passthrough. This capture card also supports variable refresh rates (VRR).

In the UK, AVerMedia’s Live Gamer Ultra 2.1 external HDMI 2.1 capture card is now available for £279.99.

Back at Computex 2023, AVerMedia revealed their Live Gamer Ultra 2.1 HDMI 2.1 (GC553G2) external capture card alongside a new HDMI 2.1 internal capture card called the Live Gamer 4K 2.1 (GC575). Sadly, the Live Gamer 4K 2.1 still lacks an official release date.
