ViewSonic reveals a range of 32-inch high refresh rate Elite Gaming monitorsÂ
ViewSonic has just revealed a range of new 32-inch Elite Gaming displays, all of which offer 144+ refresh rates, support Variable Refresh Rates (VRR) and 99% coverage of the Adobe RGB colour spectrum.Â
Starting with the Elite XG320U, we can see that ViewSonic has a monitor that’s ready for next-generation gamers. The Elite XG320U offers users support for HDMI 2.1, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro compatibility and high image quality levels thanks to Viewsonic’s use of an IPS gaming display. This screen will likely support the 4K 120Hz VVR options on new consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, making this screen ideal for both PC and console gamers.Â
Like the other new 32-inch IPS screens within ViewSonic’s 2021 CES lineup, the XG320U offers users MPRT response times of 1ms, which is why ViewSonic calls this screen an “IPS Gaming Monitor”. These screens are faster than older IPS panels and based on their listed specifications; they also offer better colour coverage.Â
Next up, we have the Elite XG320Q, a 32-inch IPS Gaming Monitor with a resolution of 2560×1440 (1440p). This screen can operate at a refresh rate of 165Hz using DisplayPort and HDMI 2.0. HDMI 2.1 is not included on this screen because it doesn’t need the additional bandwidth to offer support for its high refresh rate.Â
Like the Elite XG320U, the Elite XG320Q also support HDR, meeting VESA’s hardware requirements for the DisplayHDR 600 standard. While this HDR support level will not match OLED screens, it will be better than non-HDR screens.Â
Lastly, we have the XG321UG, a G-Sync Ultimate monitor which supports 4K at up to 144Hz refresh rates using DisplayPort 1.4. This screen does not support HDMI 2.1, likely due to this monitor’s use of an Nvidia G-Sync module. This screen uses a Mimi-LED backlight with 1,152 dimmable zones to deliver VESA DisplayHDR 1000 support. For console connectivity, this screen supports HDMI 2.0, which will limit this screen to 4K at 60Hz.Â
All of the screens below will launch in “Summer 2021”. At this time, we only have rendered images of Viewsonic’s XG320U, which can be seen above and below.Â
