Later this year Acer will be releasing a couple of new gaming monitors which will be of the large curved 34", 21:9 ultra-wide variety. The resolutions of these screens will be 3440x1440 and will be available with and without G-Sync, it is unknown currently if the second version will use AMD Freesync.

Sadly this is the only picture available of the monitor, which we know to be the Acer XR341CK, which is thought to be a 144Hz monitor with the specifications we mentioned above. It is also hinted that a lower resolution 2560x1080 version will also be available.

The screens are expected to launch in Q2 2015 and there is no word on pricing.

Oooooh la la! Sexy! Actually a pretty cool idea. It'd be a winner if it had G-sync and Free-Sync. It would also start fanboy wars over which is better lolQuote

I hope more panel makers come out with Freesync monitors, We need more competition in the marketplace.Quote

Mmmm, was looking for the Dell U3415W, but guess I'll wait for a 21:9 G-sync screen.

Hopefully it will be an IPS panel with no bleeding. The Samsung VA panel seems to have too many negative aspects to be enjoyable (mostly ghosting).Quote

That looks like a beast of a monitor. I would upgrade to a 4k monitor of this caliber if the price would be right.Quote

Hmm, I wonder how much? If I have to ask ...etc..

Could my rig run such a beast?

Currently 30" @ 2560x1600 = 4096000 pixels
That beast @ 3440x1440 = 4953600 pixels

So just less than 25% extra pixels to drive.

The monitor arena is definitely getting interesting!Quote
