AMD R9 300 series price reductions start to appear at retailers

With AMD releasing their RX 480 for $199 and Nvidia releasing their Titan X beating GTX 1070 for £399.99 a lot of consumers are waiting for one thing, price reductions.

At the time of writing most previous generations GPUs offer terrible value for money, with the GTX 980Ti still retailing for around £500 when the GTX 1070 offers similar performance and more VRAM.

Now we are finally starting to see some retailers adjust the pricing of their GPUs, with Ebuyer now offering AMD's R9 390 GPU for just £215, which is s significant reduction given the fact that most R9 390 GPUs retail at least £250.

It is expected that when AMD release their RX 480 GPUs and stocks of Nvidia's GTX 1000 stabilise that price of previous generation R9 300 series and GTX 900 series GPUs will plummet, making it a great time for PC gamers to upgrade their systems.

If that 3dMark11 bench is any indication, they need to cut Fury prices as well.Quote

I'd wait for further reductions tbh. Especially since the 1060 or even the 480 will end up offering more performance at MUCH lower wattage.Quote
