AMD's new FirePro drivers offer some huge performance benefits

When the AMD Radeon Technologies Group was first formed one of the group's major goals was to improve AMD's GPU driver stack and while we have already seen this with AMD's Gaming products there is still their Professional Grade FirePro lineup to consider.

AMD has announced their newest 15.301.2601.1002 FirePro drivers, which are designed to offer some huge performance benefits in programs like CATIA, Siemens NX and PTC Creo which are as high as 31%.

These new drivers are certified to run with these industry leading applications and as both an Engineer and PC enthusiast these new performance gains have me excited

Today we are announcing AMD FirePro driver release 15.301.2601.1002. This driver has undergone months of workstation-focused testing with leading OEM platforms, and specific testing to enable certification with leading applications, including CATIA, PTC Creo, Siemens NX, and SOLIDWORKS.

Which bring me to the next great thing about this driver: powerful performance. You can expect to get up to a whopping 31% improvement in applications like CATIA and Siemens NX.

Typically with Workstations most people will simply install their drivers and then forget about them, preferring stability over the potential risks to production posed by unnecessarily changing software.

Additional GPU performance in these applications will allow work to be done faster and allow much more work to be done in real-time, increasing productivity and decreasing downtime.
