For the past number of years, AMD has released some significant updates to their GPU drivers in Q4, from the release of AMD Radeon Software as a replacement for Catalyst Control Centre to the introduction of Crimson Edition and then Crimson ReLive, each of which offers new features, major bug fixes and boosts in performance for some popular titles.

It looks like AMD has plans to continue this trend in 2017, even after the release of Radeon Software Crimson ReLive (version 17.7.2) earlier this year, which already introduced several new features to AMD's GPU platform from improved gameplay recording performance and the introduction of AMD's Radeon GPU profiler.

Right now it is unknown exactly what AMD's next big driver update will include, though the twitter user Blaze @BlazeK_AMDRT has released images that showcases a new feature that will be released with AMD's next driver iteration, a new OSD performance metric option. This will allow users to look at things like your game's framerate, VRAM and system memory usage and the operating temperatures of your components, which is a lot more than Nvidia's competing driver suite offers.

At this time it is unknown what else will be coming as part of this driver update, be it performance optimisations, other new features or a boatload of driver fixes. Hopefully, AMD will release more info about this driver soon, as the end of the year is fast approaching.

Would be pretty cool if it worked for DX12 and VulkanQuote

It would be nice if they offer temperature monitoring with the other OSD options. As far as the Relive, its about as bare bones as you can get. If you have ever used OBS or anything like that, there is so much more you can do with those. But for low end systems that does not have the extra horsepower to spare for streaming, it is a great option.Quote
