ARMA 3 3D editor public beta is live

ARMA 3 already has a detailed scenario editor, but this is a 2D editor and fairly limited and difficult to use for newcomers. Bohemia Interactive have been working on their new 3D “Eden” tools which are designed from the ground up to be much easier to use as well as add a much needed new dimension.

These modding tools will be free as part of an upcoming update but is also available now in beta form, though you will have to put up with “an experimental and largely untested version of Arma 3”.

Below here is a recording of the Bohemia Interactive where these upcoming editing tools were announced.

Live from Bohemia Interactive HQ, the Arma 3 devteam welcomes you to the ‘Eden 3D Editor Sneak Preview’ live stream. Over the course of one hour, they provide a first look at the new 3D scenario editor, demonstrate its features and improvements over the original 2D editor, and discuss some of the key design decisions. Plus, there’s a small surprise at the end.

In order to take part in the “Eden” beta all you need to do is right clock on Arma 3 in your Steam Library and opt-in to developer builds for the game when inside the properties tab. After this is done Bohemia’s “Eden” developer tools will be yours.

You can join the discussion on Arma 3 3D editor on the OC3D Forums.
