ASUS announces their GTX 1060 Strix DirectCU II

ASUS has announced a new version of their GTX 1060 Strix, coming with ASUS' older DirectCU II GPU cooler design and a lower price tag. This GPU's cooler will be slightly longer than the card's PCB, with this GPU using a shorter PCB design that ASUS' GTX 1060 Strix DirectCU III.

This GPU draws power from a single 6-pin PCIe power connection and will come with factory overclocked speeds of 1569MHz base and 1785MHz boost and the same stock clock memory speeds of 8.00GHz of Nvidia's reference model.

ASUS' GPU Tweak software will increase this GPU's clock speeds to 1595MHz base and 1811MHz boost if this GPU is used in overclock mode. One other thing that is worth noting is that this GPU lacks any form of RGB illumination, which should help lower this GPU's price tag.

Right now ASUS has not announced the pricing of this new GTX 1060 model, though it will likely sit under their GTX 1060 Strix DirectCU III RGB model in their GPU product stack.

lmao that made me laugh new old Strix !

They are possibly using leftover coolers? hence the price drop? could this have been the one the 970 or 960 Strix used?

Asus seem to spend a lot on coolers, as they charge a lot for them.Quote

Makes me think of Classic/old Coke. Except this version is just worse than the strix DCU III version.
