ASUS reveals their ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD Super Wide monitor

ASUS’ new ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD OLED Super-Wide monitor is a curved OLED gaming beast

ASUS has confirmed that a bunch of their newest products have received “Best Choice” awards at Computex 2023, and one of those product is their ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD OLED Super-Wide monitor.

Currently, not much is know about this display from ASUS, though it appears to utilise a Quantum Dot OLED (QD-OLED) display from Samsung, feature a 144Hz refresh rate, and offer blitzing-fast 0.03ms Grey-to-Grey (G2G) response times. Like many ROG Swift series displays, the ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD OLED also features a custom display heatsink solution that is designed to reduce burn-in risks and enable higher peak brightness levels when compared to many similar OLED gaming displays, with this model offering users up to 1,000 nits of display brightness.

The ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD is a 49-inch super-ultrawide (5120 x 1440) gaming monitor, featuring an 1800R QD-OLED panel with 144 Hz refresh rate and 0.03 ms response time for immersive gaming experiences. To ensure QD-OLED longevity and better performance, it includes a custom heatsink and graphene film — the thinnest and strongest nanomaterial in the world — behind the whole QD-OLED panel, for better heat dissipation to reduce the risk of burn-in and boost the peak brightness up to 1000 nits.

Like all modern gaming screens, the ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD OLED is expected to support Variable Refresh Rates when used with modern AMD and Nvidia graphics cards, and like all OLED monitors, this screen is expected to offer users “true blacks” and high contrast levels thanks to the per-pixel illumination that’s offered by OLED displays.

We expect ASUS to reveal more details about this new gaming monitor at Computex, and we hope to know pricing and availability information about the ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD OLED soon.
